CoMo-CAL — Advocates For You

CoMO-CAL represents the 6600 mobilehome spaces that are covered by the Rent Stabilization Ordinance for the City of Los Angeles.  CoMO-CAL has more than once discovered parks that were not giving the legal rent increase.

In 2008, CoMO-CAL discovered at least 5 parks that were giving 4% annual rent increases instead of the 3% allowed by law.  The parks immediately correct their mistake, saving all the residents 1% in 2008 and future years - amounting to $75,000/year - more than all membership dues collected!!!  This just shows no one should be without a CoMO-CAL membership.

We have also determined that very few, if any of the 60 parks covered by the RSO, are following the guidelines where in the parks are supposed to notify residents of the annual increase by giving them a COPY OF THE REGISTRATION.  This document specifies the allowable rent increase.  Parks that are not giving this "registration" are in effect breaking the law.  CoMO-CAL can not do it alone - join us and help us be a "watch dog" for your rent control ordinance.
